Ragnarok - Skoll, Sun Devourer

Digital abstract illustration. I wanted to create bold, abstract, symbolic illustrations featuring powerful animals and focusing on the mythology surrounding them.

The wolf is one of the most mesmerising creatures both in beauty and fierceness. One Norse myth is about Hati and Sköll, the sons of the giant wolf Fenrir. They chase the sun and moon and one day they will catch them. Hati will devour the moon and Sköll will devour the sun bringing about Ragnarok, the end of days and the downfall of the cosmos.
